What is a kick?

The kick drum is the largest and lowest drum in the kit. In a real-world kit, this drum sits on the floor and is played with a foot pedal. Kick drums come in many different sizes, shapes, sounds, and styles. Some of these are recordings of acoustic drums. Others are generated electronically.
