Terms of Service

Welcome to Learn.Ableton.com (”we”, ”us”, ”the Service”), a website that lets you create music and share it with others through a link. By creating an account, making a track, or generating a share link, you (”you”) agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. Your content and who owns it

”Your Content” means the tracks, recordings, arrangements, and any other material you create, upload, or share using the Service.

You keep ownership of Your Content. We don’t claim to own it.

The rights described in Section 5 remain unaffected.

2. The permission you give us

So that we can actually run the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, back up, stream, and display Your Content — including making it accessible to anyone you share a link with. This licence exists only so we can operate and provide the Service (including your share links) and ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for backups that take a reasonable time to clear and anything already shared by others.

3. What you promise about Your Content

You confirm that, for everything you create or share:

You are solely responsible for Your Content. We don’t pre-screen it and we’re not responsible for it.

4. Things you may not do

You agree not to use the Service to create or share content that:

5. Sounds and samples we provide

If the Service gives you access to samples, loops, instruments, or presets (”Provided Sounds”), we grant you a licence to use them in tracks you make with the Service, including tracks you share. You may not redistribute or resell the Provided Sounds on their own, outside of a track you’ve made. The Provided Sounds remain owned by us or our licensors.

6. Copyright complaints and takedowns

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to valid complaints.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to Ableton Support including: your contact details, identification of the work, the link to the material you’re complaining about, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn’t authorised.

We will remove or disable access to material that is the subject of a valid notice.

7. You cover us if your content causes a problem (indemnity)

If you are residing outside of the European Union, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal costs that arise out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms. In plain terms: if something you share gets us sued, you’re responsible for the costs of that claim.

8. The Service is provided “as is”

We work to keep the Service running, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your tracks or share links will always be available.

9. Limits on our liability

If you are residing outside of the European Union, to the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost data, tracks, or profits.

10. Suspending or ending access

We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms or if we need to for legal or security reasons. You can stop using the Service at any time.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of Berlin.
